Team history

The organization was formed to rename two former historical black streets, Railroad Street, renamed Spencer Street and then Randall Street Expressway in Bristol, Virginia; and Woodlawn Avenue, renamed Edgemont Avenue in Bristol, Tennessee, to Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard, Bristol, TN-VA. The two streets were joined in unity at State Street, the Virginia-Tennessee state line and renamed in honor of the esteemed civil rights, peace and social justice leader, the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
